Macular Degeneration
What is AMD?
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a deterioration or damage of the central part of the retina called the macula. The macula is responsible for our central vision. Patients that have AMD often begin to lose their central vision, but their peripheral is unaffected.
Early Detection and Management
Early detection of AMD starts with having a comprehensive eye exam at least once a year. We will evaluate for any risk factors and/or early signs of AMD. Rest assured, our eye doctors are trained and equipped to manage macular degeneration and other eye diseases that may be detected.
